After many seminars on Photoshop and the different techniques and tools that you can use , i tried to use this skill set and play about with some images .I really like image manipulation and i think I'm going to continue to do this however maybe use tear sheets first then scan in to create a better effect as i prefer that look .

Mood boards

I've been playing around and altering my mood boards for the colour story and brand , to refresher my memory I've been looking at previous seminars were we used tear sheets to create different styles of mood boards: minimum , maximum , grid and free-form . I think i prefer the more minimum style of mood boards with lots of negative space just to focus on the main strong images. I also really like the grid style with lots of clean lines and symmetry .I think I'm going to try and use this in my own two mood boards .

My three new pintrest boards :

After a very interesting lecture on the importance of pintrest and categorising and organising your thoughts etc , I have been trying to keep updated on my very own pintrest .I have already had pintrest for two years however i never really understood the hype i enjoyed using tumblr more however after the lecture we had a few weeks ago i can really see the benefit of pintrest and using this as a professional platform that a potential employer could look at .

So my first board is " Inflatables aren't just for kids", i first created this as i have been seeing more and more editorials and advertisement were a lot of the props are inflatables and used in a fun carefree way.The second "Ok we get it you like that pattern" is because i keep seeing allot of print on print weather that be garment behind a printed wall.The third is " poolside all year round " as i think fashion loves a good editorial by a pool or in a pool or the backdrop is pool they just cant get enough

Liberty London

After watching the first series of this show about the infamous luxury department store Liberty of London i was thrilled to see the next series .This show really shows you the in's and out's of the working of a store like itself. I really enjoyed how each episode gave the view of different individuals within the store .From a counter sales assistant to the head office to the receptionist , i think the show really gave the essence about what Liberty was and its heritage .I have to say my favourite episode was the Christmas window revealing maybe that's just because I'm a sucker for anything Christmasy / gold / glittery but to go behind the scenes and see the work that goes in to the window displays . On a outing to London I made my first trip to the store I could see why so many people fall in love with it , unlike many commercial department stores like selfridges , Debenhams , this store really makes you feel at home and personal which I really enjoyed

The Debate

In one our seminars following on from a very interesting lecture on the impact that the fashion industry is having on the world around us , this was the first time that this had been discussed and to be honest i actually thought about .It covered all area including environmental issues ( which were very shocking images) , body image , sexism and ethnicity . This led to the task that we were set to argue against the statement "Fashion does more damage than good " . At first glance i wished i got the "for "as i felt that i could just list things of from the top of my head . However after splitting up in to different categories : environmental ,cultural ,social and finally the one that i researched political .

Mapping 2013 on Behance Use a process like this for "identity/self-concept" activity about skin color/shade/tone/palette. Put vertical photo strip of every child together on a couple images to make a collective face.

In Vogue - the editors eye

After viewing this at film club i thought it was one of the best films that i have seen about the fashion industry , it really gave insightful information about each individual and how they all have different preferences which is refreshing to remember that even if your thought process is different to someone else's than that's ok .By far my favourite has to be Grace Coddington ,she is just a very quirky character and has come so far from her sleepy village in Wales , she is defiantley someone that i would love to have round the dinner table for a big chat . Plus the fact that she is 73 and still working really drills home that this isn't just a job that you can clock in and out of you really have to be dedicated and love what you do .

Adidas x Mary Katranzou

I have always loved Mary Katranzou and her amazing digital prints and i keep a keen eye out on any collaborations. When i saw that she was pairing up with Adidas i was very excited ,sports luxe is very big at the minute combine with Mary Katranzou intricate digital designs i was sure that i would be lusting after it and i was right .She really focuses on the design element using Adidas footwear and soles of the trainers to influence her prints , with design over performance . This capsule collection really is full of statement pieces that are wearable to the consumer making fashion and sports fit together perfectly. I feel that this really links in with my brief of hero to zero , adidas by collaberating with Mary Katranzou has widened its audience and acessibility .

Horst Exhibition - London

On a recent trip to London we visited the V & A museum to see the HORST exhibition photographers of style . Here we saw a varied selection of Horst's work which span over sixty years . I really found the unseen scribbles and pages from his sketchbook the most interesting because you could see the quick thoughts and planning that Horst did before every Photo shoot. Along with surrealism photographs which explored the female body and he also collaborated with the artist Salvador Dalí . I enjoyed seeing the selection of patterns from nature which i think could resemble work today like kaleidoscope , i think it is very intriguing how he produced these considering the date at the time . The main attraction however which i thought was the Coloured photography of ll of the Vogue covers it really showed his journey from begging to end and the extensive work that he has done .Overall i think it was a very useful and insightful trip .

Grayson Perry - Who are you ?

The program that we watched in our seminar was very powerful and thought provoking . In the programme Perry looks at identity and finding it with three very different people from different demographics .He choose these people as they were all on their own journeys to define who they actually were .I found Chris Huhne the most intriguing as Perry created a vase with repeated motifs of him ironically his car number plate and a penis , it was then cracked which shows the powerful white bullet proof male does have crack and can fall from grace however these cracks are filled inn with gold because Huhne was exactly the same and didn't portray these cracks to the outside world looking in .

Since being at Uni i have discovered that cooking is defiantley does not come naturally to me nor do i find it relaxing or enjoyable ( srsly who are these people that do ).However I am going to develop my skills as I can no longer survive on pasta and noodles so here is my first attempt ; starting of with the basics chicken stir fry .

As part of my first brief street style i captured this image and it really stands out to me as one of my favourites as it is unconventially fashion.I also think that you can see the trickle down/.up because you could end up seeing head scarves on the runways .

NORTH VS SOUTH

A scouser and a manc friends really.... who'd of thought that two arch enemies would become friends due to there northern roots but yes that's what the first week of uni did and i am glad about it.

NTU Freshers especially love fancy dress and go all out , there is no 'oh it will do ' here the whole outfit needs to be on point and scream beach party , army , animal .

Accommodation halls well lets just say if you put on a bit of weight you will certainly know about it when you attempt to squeeze in to the 3 by 4 bathroom .

The North and South divide if you never knew it before it certainly will become a thing , the discussions on the correct way of pronunciation words will always continue

BARRRRTH no BATH

Drinking is a sport lets just clarify that , at uni it is classed a sport an instead of paying a membership fee you only have to part with a mere £1.80 for a double vodka & coke .

I really like the minimal look that this blog has but also its mixture of content including personal style ,high end reviews and also some lifestyle.The writing is very informal and offers us a insight in to her views and opinions on various affairs.As well as having very clean cut images of close ups etc alongside the writing .I think because it has a lot of negative space it makes it easier to digest without being overwhelmed by writing.

I love the visuals that this blog has she really creates a intriguing feel and shows a small slice in to her life with sections that make it easy to navigate across beauty, travel and fashion .Again the photos are really clear and crisp which i think draws the eye in but these are the main focus of the post .

This travel blog really grabbed my attention with it's easy to read content and breath taking images of all around the world .The concise reviews of various cities /countries are really well thought out and its not just about travel it goes on to tell you about what technology is the best , what to wear , where to eat .
